Kaizen (Problem solving)

Kaizen training:

Mastering the art of Problem solving

In this third module you will experience the ‘best practices’ to tackle operational problems the ‘lean’ way. Often referred to as ‘Kaizen’.

It is a systematic approach, initiated with a clear unambiguous problem statement leading to root cause analyses, and eventually the implementation of sustainable countermeasures, thus avoiding recurrence of the problem. That is the essence: prevent operational problems from repeating themselves.

For each ‘step’ in this Kaizen the course entails:

  1. Explaining the step (what, why, how),
  2. A real life example to see its practical application
  3. Guided workshops in small groups on a real operational problem that is being selected from the raised operational problems from the participants.

The course material is actually a Toolkit with practical tips and tricks for each step in a Kaizen.

Consider it as a manual, helping you (as reference material after having followed the course) to take on other operational problems once and for all yourself.

Programme

  1. Introduction to the toolkit: what’s in it + how it supports you later on.
  2. What are operational problems and how to identify them
  3. Making a Problem Definition
  4. Identifying contributing elements to the problem (a 360° view on the problem)
  5. Root Cause Analyses
  6. Identifying and defining sustainable solutions / countermeasures
  7. Planning & performing the implementation of solutions
